Indoor & Outdoor Workers

Whether or not you work indoors or outdoors, you may have some risk for developing skin cancer in Colorado. Outdoor workers receive 8 times more ultraviolet radiation (UV) than indoor workers and have a 60% greater chance of developing skin cancer. However, outdoor workers are more likely to develop nonmelanoma skin cancer and indoor workers are more likely to develop melanoma skin cancer.  This may be because indoor workers are more likely to experience sunburns when they over expose themselves to UV radiation.

Whether you work indoors or outdoors, it's important to remember to protect yourself from over exposure to UV. Check out the Prevention Strategies to find out how.
